Resources
Complementary and
Integrative Medicine (CIM):
CIM is a whole-person approach to healthcare—care that is designed to treat the
person not just the disease—with an emphasis on complementary treatments that
have some high-quality evidence to support them.
Experiential Workshop:
These workshops will bridge the gap between research and practice. They will
include practical demonstrations of a variety of methods of manual care,
combined with discussions of evidence of efficacy, proposed
mechanisms, scientific evidence, and the expression of needs for future
exploration. Tables will be provided.
Public
Health:
In public health the goal is to prevent disease or injury, promote healthy
lifestyles and eliminate health disparities, and ensure treatments for public
health issues—such as chronic pain, obesity and substance abuse—are safe and
effective.
Translational Research (TR):
TR transforms scientific discoveries arising from laboratory, clinical, or
population studies into clinical applications. In this equal parts approach,
researchers have access to clinical information and practitioners feed
information back to researchers on the clinical relevance of discoveries.
