This conference, formerly known as the “Highlighting Massage Therapy in Complementary and Integrative Medicine Research Conference,” will take place April 25-27, 2013, in historic Boston, Massachusetts at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center. A total of 19 CE credits are provided for attending the full 3 day conference.

Here is a brief rundown of the conference agenda:
Day 1: How does massage work? Potential mechanisms
Day 1 will present research findings that help explain how massage therapy works through physiological, psychological, and neurological mechanisms and discuss what other research is needed to prove the efficacy of massage.
Keynote presenter: Jeanette Ezzo, LMT, MPH, PhD
Day 2: Massage in the Community; Informing Public Health
Day 2 will emphasize the potential for community outreach programs to provide research data through evaluation, and discuss program implementation strategies.
Keynote presenter: Leslie Korn, PhD, MPH, NCB, LMHC, RPE
Day 3: Next Steps in Massage Therapy Research
Day 3 will explore the current status of massage research in preparation for updating and advancing the Massage Therapy Research Agenda.

Cancellation and Substitution
Cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing by April 19, 2013. Refunds will be processed less a $100 processing and handling fee. No refunds will be made after April 19, 2013, or for no-shows. Refunds will be issued 4-6 weeks after the conference International Massage Therapy Research Conference (IMTRC) is not responsible for any charges or cancellation fees assessed by airlines or hotels Please note, after April 19, 2013, there are no cancellation refunds. Substitutions are allowed and must be submitted in writing by April 19, 2013.
