Friday, October 13th, 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm:

Massage Therapy Foundation Grant Writing Workshop (2 contact hours)
Foundation President, Diana L. Thompson, LMP and Foundation Vice President, Glenn M. Hymel, Ed.D., LMT will explain each grant program, the submission requirements, the application procedure, and the criteria used in the evaluation process of Massage Therapy Foundation grants. This workshop is highly recommended for anyone considering applying for funding from the Massage Therapy Foundation. Guidelines and applications for each of the grants will be available, as well as summaries of all research and community service grants the Foundation has awarded to date.

Saturday, October 14th, 8 am to 12 noon:

Writing Case Reports (4 contact hours)
Presented by Foundation President, Diana L. Thompson, LMP and Foundation Vice President, Glenn M. Hymel, Ed.D., LMT. Case reports are an important foundation in the research pyramid, providing important evidence when published and disseminated. This session will provide helpful guidelines for developing clinical thinking and building a body of practical knowledge

“Armed & Ready - Assessment & Treatment of the Upper Extremity” Presented by  David Kent (12 contact hours)

Ready, aim, fire! Learn how to eliminate upper extremity pain in this fun-filled, hands-on seminar. Techniques to assess and treat a variety of client complaints and symptoms are demonstrated and practiced. Common conditions discussed include: thoracic outlet syndrome, golfer’s and tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, hand pain(s) and more.

Friday’s Dissection of the Shoulder class has useful information that pertains to this seminar, but the dissection class is not a requirement for attendance.
